One book we read talked about the dangers of singularization of a specific nutrient as a "cure all". As if the lycopene in tomatoes or the specific antioxidants from Mangosteen will save us all. These parts have their role to play in the important drama of interactions within the body; but if you have a stage full of bad actors (unhealthy food) and throw an excellent actor up there to try and save the show, of course you're going to notice a difference in the original play! That nutrient was a cover up to poor quality!
So we are all getting rid of the idea that we attain health through singular performers to now looking at the whole routine, all of the best artists making appearances, act one through act three. It is as easy to fire the bad actors and find new exceptional ones, as it is to find healthy and delicious food, to make it and eat it. Their talent and synergy will make it the longest running Broadway show in history! Not only do the best actors know their lines, their timing is impeccable. And it's about time we held auditions!
That is why the correct study of food is so essential to finding the truth about health. And that is what I have lived. You can read my personal story how I came to want to know the truth at the Vibrant At 89 homepage in the "Mandi's Story" tab. I'd like to go through here some of the studies I found on food and how they can be helpful, or hurtful, to us.
